AF has been providing members with written resources for many years. Before online guidance became readily available, paper publications delivered the latest AF news, procedures, and arbitration guidance. Those publications were useful at the time, but the guidance they contain may no longer reflect current practices.
Today, AF publishes E-Bulletins and maintains current, relevant articles on its website. Materials that no longer reflect current information or guidance are removed. The Reference Guide to Arbitration Forums, Inc.’s Agreements and Rules (Reference Guide) and the Guide for Arbitrators (GFA) are also updated periodically.
Older articles, publications, and prior versions of the Reference Guide or GFA are sometimes used in arguments and as evidence. Relying on these materials can create confusion and may weaken an argument when the information is not current. When preparing or responding to an arbitration filing, you should only use the current resources available on AF’s website.
If your filing refers to an AF procedure or guideline, confirm that the source is current before submitting it. Citing the latest version of the Reference Guide or Guide for Arbitrators helps ensure that your position is clear, accurate, and based on the most recent guidance.
